There are many manufacturers of H2 and HHO systems, 95% of which are from China, even though some MLM and water and air filter shops market them as European products. Crucially, these systems must have verifiable test documentation, comply with medical DIN ISO QM 13485 standards, and have genuine DoC and CE markings. Worldwide, only one manufacturer has received approval for its products as Class III medical devices (currently in Asia – EU approval is pending). EU MRD approval is expected in early 2026. For safety and as the most reliable and sustainable system currently available worldwide, we recommend this manufacturer – Asclepius Meditec.
Differences
H2 - HHO and Asclepius Systems
Almost all systems offered are equipped with a PEM/SPE electrolysis unit. Learn here why the difference is so significant:
The various systems for producing H2, HHO (hydrogen-oxygen) or Brown's Gas

AMS H-03
This water plasma device is the only medical-grade system (currently approved as Class III in China and expected to be approved in the EU and USA from around the beginning of 2026) that uses neither PEM nor alkaline solutions, but instead employs a patented process that generates hydrogen using water plasma (Brown's gas). This results in an efficiency level that combines the advantages of PEM hydrogen technology with those of conventional Brown's gas electrolysis in a way never before achieved. Users can feel the difference.
Other techniques with comparison

Hydrogen oxygen device
This device uses PEM electrolysis and is equipped with a DuPont membrane, which DuPont has prohibited from being used for medical purposes. The risk of ammonium fluoride poisoning cannot be ruled out if it is used improperly. Furthermore, this PE membrane, which contains PFAS, will no longer be permitted in the EU from 2026. EU member states must now address the implementation of this ban.
Welding equipment conversion
This is an example of a welding machine that is being marketed as a medical device by some "backyard manufacturers." See technical Brown's gas electrolysis. Danger of explosions and chemical burns.
Mislabeling of a Browns gas appliance
Some vendors label a hydrogen-oxygen system using PEM technology as Brown's Gas. Brown's Gas cannot be produced with PEM. See The Book of Knowledge.
